Commerical LED lighting upgrade

Looking to perform a commercial LED lighting upgrade? Then BakerDias group are here to support you through the process. As of my last update in September 2021, there were several rebates and incentives available in Australia to encourage commercial businesses to upgrade to LED lighting for improved energy efficiency and sustainability. However, please note that programs and incentives can change over time, so it’s essential to verify the current status and availability of these rebates.

Here are a few examples of rebate programs that were active in Australia for commercial LED lighting upgrades:

  1. Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program: This program, formerly known as the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme, provides incentives for businesses in the state of Victoria to upgrade to energy-efficient technologies, including LED lighting. The rebates are provided through accredited providers, and businesses can receive discounts on the cost of their LED lighting upgrades.
  2. New South Wales Energy Saver Scheme: The Energy Saver Scheme (ESS) in New South Wales offers financial incentives to businesses that implement energy-saving measures, including upgrading to energy-efficient lighting solutions like LEDs. The rebates are provided through accredited energy savings certificate providers.
  3. South Australian Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES): The REES program in South Australia offers incentives to both residential and business customers for undertaking energy efficiency activities. Businesses can receive incentives for upgrading to energy-efficient lighting solutions like LEDs.
  4. Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government Energy Efficiency Improvement Scheme (EEIS): The ACT EEIS provides incentives for businesses to improve their energy efficiency. This can include upgrading lighting systems to energy-efficient options like LED lighting.
  5. Federal Government Energy Schemes: While not specific to LED lighting, there have been federal initiatives aimed at promoting energy efficiency, which could include lighting upgrades. These initiatives might include the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) and the Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) program.
  6. Local Utility Rebates: Some electricity providers offer their own rebate programs to encourage energy efficiency among their commercial customers. These programs might include rebates for LED lighting upgrades or other energy-saving measures.

It’s important to research and reach out to relevant local and state government departments, as well as energy providers, to get the most up-to-date information on available rebates and incentives for commercial LED lighting upgrades in Australia. Additionally, energy efficiency organizations and industry associations can often provide valuable resources and information regarding available programs. Keep in mind that rebate programs might have specific requirements and application processes that need to be followed to qualify for incentives.
